Sifat - sifat Rosululloh SAW

Kebiasaan Nabi Kataku pula: Sifatkanlah kepadaku mengenai kebiasaannya!Jawab pamanku: Adalah Rasulullah SAW itu kelihatannya seperti orang yang selalu bersedih, senantiasa banyak berfikir, tidak pernah beristirshat panjang, tidak berbicara bila tidak ada keperluan, banyak diamnya, memulakan bicara dan menghabiskannya dengan sepenuh mulutnva, kata-katanya penuh mutiara mauti manikam, satu-satu kalimatnya, tidak berlebih-lebihan atau berkurang-kurangan, lemah lembut tidak terlalu kasar atau menghina diri, senantiasa membesarkan nikmat walaupun kecil, tidak pernah mencela nikmat apa pun atau terlalu memujinya, tiada seorang dapat meredakan marahnya, apabila sesuatu dari kebenaran dihinakan sehingga dia dapat membelanya. Dalam riwayat lain, dikatakan bahwa baginda menjadi marah kerana sesuatu urusan dunia atau apa-apa yang bertalian dengannya, tetapi apabila baginda melihat kebenaran itu dihinakan, tiada seorang yang dapat melebihi marahnya, sehingga baginda dapat membela kerananya. Satu bagian khusus untuk Allah ta'ala, satu bagian untuk isteri-isterinya, dan satu bagian lagi untuk dirinya sendiri. Kemudian dijadikan bagian untuk dirinya itu terpenuh dengan urusan di antaranya dengan manusia, dihabiskan waktunya itu untuk melayani semua orang yang awam maupun yang khusus, tiada seorang pun dibedakan dari yang lain. Di antara tabiatnya ketika melayani ummat, baginda selalu memberikan perhatiannya kepada orang-orang yang terutama untuk dididiknya, dilayani mereka menurut kelebihan diri masing-masing dalam agama. Ada yang keperluannya satu ada yang dua, dan ada yang lebih dari itu, maka baginda akan duduk dengan mereka dan melayani semua urusan mereka yang berkaitan dengan diri mereka sendiri dan kepentingan ummat secara umum, coba menunjuki mereka apa yang perlu dan memberitahu mereka apa yang patut dilakukan untuk kepentingan semua orang dengan mengingatkan pula: "Hendaklah siapa yang hadir menyampaikan kepada siapa yang tidak hadir. Jangan lupa menyampaikan kepadaku keperluan orang yang tidak dapat menyampaikannya sendiri, sebab sesiapa yang menyampaikan keperluan orang yang tidak dapat menyampaikan keperluannya sendiri kepada seorang penguasa, niscaya Allah SWT akan menetapkan kedua tumitnya di hari kiamat", tiada disebutkan di situ hanya hal-hal yang seumpama itu saja. Baginda tidak menerima dari bicara yang lain kecuali sesuatu untuk maslahat ummatnya. Mereka datang kepadanya sebagai orang-orang yang berziarah, namun mereka tiada meninggalkan tempat melainkan dengan berisi. Dalam riwayat lain mereka tiada berpisah melainkan sesudah mengumpul banyak faedah, dan mereka keluar dari majelisnya sebagai orang yang ahli dalam hal-ihwal agamanya. Luaran Nabi Berkata Al-Hasan r.a. lagi: Kemudian saya bertanya tentang keadaannya di luar, dan apa yang dibuatnya? Jawabnya: Adalah Rasulullah SAW ketika di luar, senantiasa mengunci lidahnya, kecuali jika memang ada kepentingan untuk ummatnya. Baginda selalu beramah-tamah kepada mereka, dan tidak kasar dalam bicaranya. Baginda senantiasa memuliakan ketua setiap suku dan kaum dan meletakkan masing-masing di tempatnya yang layak. Kadang-kadang baginda mengingatkan orang ramai, tetapi baginda senantiasa menjaga hati mereka agar tidak dinampakkan pada mereka selain mukanya yang manis dan akhlaknya yang mulia. Baginda selalu menanyakan sahabat-sahabatnya bila mereka tidak datang, dan selalu bertanyakan berita orang ramai dan apa yang ditanggunginya. Mana yang baik dipuji dan dianjurkan, dan mana yang buruk dicela dan dicegahkan. Apabila baginda sampai kepada sesuatu tempat, di situlah baginda duduk sehingga selesai majelis itu dan baginda menyuruh membuat seperti itu. Bila berhadapan dengan orang ramai diberikan pandangannya kepada semua orang dengan sama rata, sehingga orang-orang yang berada di majelisnya itu merasa tiada seorang pun yang diberikan penghormatan lebih darinya. Bila ada orang yang datang kepadanya kerana sesuatu keperluan, atau sesuatu masliahat, baginda terus melayaninya dengan penuh kesabaran hinggalah orang itu bangun dan kembali. Baginda tidak pernah menghampakan orang yang meminta daripadanya sesuatu keperluan, jika ada diberikan kepadanya, dan jika tidak ada dijawabnya dengan kata-kata yang tidak mengecewakan hatinya. Budipekertinya sangat baik, dan perilakunya sungguh bijak. Baginda dianggap semua orang seperti ayah, dan mereka dipandang di sisinya semuanya sama dalam hal kebenaran, tidak berat sebelah. Majelisnya semuanya ramah-tamah, segan-silu, sabar menunggu, amanah, tidak pemah terdengar suara yang tinggi, tidak dibuat padanya segala yang dilarangi, tidak disebut yang jijik dan buruk, semua orang sama kecuali dengan kelebihan taqwa, semuanya merendah diri, yang tua dihormati yang muda, dan yang muda dirahmati yang tua, yang perlu selalu diutamakan, yang asing selalu didahulukan. Baginda tidak suka mencari-cari keaiban orang dan tidak berbicara mengenai seseorang kecuali yang mendatangkan faedah dan menghasilkan pahala. Apabila baginda berbicara, semua orang yang berada dalam majelisnya memperhatikannya dengan tekun seolah-olah burung sedang tertengger di atas kepala mereka. Bila baginda berhenti berbicara, mereka baru mula berbicara, dan bila dia berbicara pula, semua mereka berdiam seribu basa. Mereka tidak pernah bertengkar di hadapannya. Baginda tertawa bila dilihatnya mereka tertawa, dan baginda merasa takjub bila mereka merasa takjub. Diamnya Nabi Berkata Al-Hasan r.a. lagi: Saya pun menanyakan pula tentang diamnya, bagaimana pula keadaannya? Jawabnya: Diam Rasulullah SAW bergantung kepada mempertimbangkan empat hal, yaitu: Kerana adab sopan santun, kerana berhati-hati, kerana mempertimbangkan sesuatu di antara manusia, dan kerana bertafakkur. Adapun sebab pertimbangannya ialah kerana persamaannya dalam pandangan dan pendengaran di antara manusia. Adapun tentang tafakkurnya ialah pada apa yang kekal dan yang binasa. Dan terkumpul pula dalam peribadinya sifat-sifat kesantunan dan kesabaran. Tidak ada sesuatu yang boleh menyebabkan dia menjadi marah, ataupun menjadikannya membenci. Dan terkumpul dalam peribadinya sifat berhati-hati dalam empat perkara, iaitu: Suka membuat yang baik-baik dan melaksanakannya untuk kepentingan ummat dalam hal-ehwal mereka yang berkaitan dengan dunia mahupun akhirat, agar dapat dicontohi oleh yang lain. Baginda meninggalkan yang buruk, agar dijauhi dan tidak dibuat oleh yang lain. Bersungguh-sungguh mencari jalan yang baik untuk maslahat ummatnya, dan melakukan apa yang dapat mendatangkan manfaat buat ummatnya, baik buat dunia ataupun buat akhirat.
